About SBIA

The Silver Beach Improvement Association (SBIA) was formed in the 1930s to improve and maintain the New Silver Beach community, including the beach area and SBIA facilities. We also plan many events to entertain our members and their guests. The SBIA represents the membership’s interests in dealing with the Town of Falmouth. (For example, we had an active voice in the dredging of Wild Harbor.)

The SBIA hires lifeguards, offers swimming lessons, and maintains the beach’s cleanliness. Almost 75% of our annual budget goes to paying the lifeguards, maintaining the beach, and removing trash/seaweed. Over the last few years, we made several capital improvements to the SBIA property. Membership dues help keep New Silver Beach looking great for future generations.

The SBIA not only owns and maintains beach property, but we also have a recreational area that includes tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, a movie screen, and a children’s playground. We built and maintained the boat/kayak rack located by the playground.

We arrange for many social events and children’s activities throughout the summer. SBIA membership entitles you, your guests, and renters to unlimited use of the beach, free swim lessons, and free or discounted entrance to the many SBIA events. There is not a better beach bargain on the Upper Cape. To become a member, please complete the online membership form here.

New Silver Beach is a special place since we have a beautiful beach area and a sense of community and tradition. Some of the beach’s annual traditions, like the Horribles Parade on July 4th, can be traced back generations. New Silver Beach celebrates its 125th anniversary this year, 2023. SBIA has worked hard to maintain the beach and these traditions. We invite you to join us in keeping New Silver Beach a premier spot.
