Association Kick-Off Meeting: Saturday, May 23. We will discuss association business and answer your questions. Your input is welcome. Due to the current pandemic, we will be using Zoom Video-Conferencing to ensure our members can participate.  CLICK HERE for Zoom instructions.  Meeting starts at 10:00 am.

Beach Cleanup: Saturday, June 20. We will meet at 9:00 am at the beach, Ocean View entrance. We will be working with social distancing requirements in mind, e.g. spreading out between the two beach areas, court and playground areas.  Workers should bring a face mask and gloves to maintain Massachusetts guidelines.  The work generally takes a few hours. We will have cleanup crews for the beach and dunes, the beach entrances, courts, and select areas outside the courts. (Rain date: June 21.)

Sunset & Song: Come to the beach on Fridays at sunset to kick off the weekend with the singing of our very own New Silver Beach Song!  Copies of the lyrics will be provided (or you can find them on the SBIA website and practice before you come down!).

New Member Playground Meetup: (Phase 2 of Massachusetts’s Re-Opening Plan) This is a great opportunity for children to get some active play and meet other kids…and for parents to connect as well. Refreshments provided by the Tea Room. Meet at the SBIA playground (between the tennis court and harbor) and “swing” into summer with some new friends.

♥ New Silver Beach Astronomy: Ready for some astronomical fun!  Kids of all ages are invited to take a hands-on, star-filled adventure with amateur astronomers Beth & Dennis Murphy to get a telescopic look at the moon, planets and stars.  Our meeting times are planned to coincide with the summer’s most exciting celestial events!  NSB Astronomy is part of NASA’s Night Sky Network!

♥ Hockey Skills Competition: Hockey skills will be a fun competition including stick handling, shooting and skills.

Golf Outing: The fourth annual SBIA member golf tournament will be held sometime in August. Email Jim Simmons at [email protected] if interested in participating. More details to follow.

♥ Adult Social (Bingo): The tennis courts will turn into a bingo parlor with prizes and fun for all!

♥ Kid’s Dog Show: First annual dog show – our four-legged members get to shine here and have fun voting for the best in show!

New Silver Gets Fit!: (Phase 3 or 4 of Massachusetts’s Re-Opening Plan)  Back for a fifth year, this boot-camp style fitness program will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00-9:00 am, at the courts (and sometimes on the beach!). This is an adult boot camp, led by professional trainers. Details to follow.

Pickleball: (Phase 3 or 4 of Massachusetts’s Re-Opening Plan) Entering its fourth year and growing in participation, pickleball is a fun paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It has become very popular with adults. The rules are simple, and the game is easy to learn. Lessons held Wednesdays 9:00-10:00 am (beginners) and 10:00-11:00 am (intermediates).  Open play is Mondays and Fridays 9:00-11:00 am. Everything you need to get started is provided.
